Connecting Instagram
Kinfeed connects through Instagram Login. You need a Creator or Business Instagram account. You do not need a Facebook Page. If something goes wrong, find your situation below. The same guides open inside Kinfeed, right where you get stuck.
Switch to a professional Instagram account
Instagram only lets apps post to Creator and Business accounts. Switching is free.
- Open the Instagram app and go to your profile.
- Tap the menu (three lines) at the top right.
- Tap Settings and activity.
- In the For professionals section, tap Account type and tools.
- Tap Switch to professional account.
- Pick a category that fits you, then choose Creator or Business. Either works with Kinfeed.
- Finish the short setup screens. You can skip contact details.
- Come back to Kinfeed and connect again.
Your followers and posts stay as they are. Instagram may make a private account public when you switch, so read the prompt before you confirm. No Facebook Page is needed: Kinfeed connects with Instagram Login only. Menu names can differ slightly by app version; on some versions the path is Settings and privacy, then Account type and tools.

Creator or Business: which to pick
Both can be connected to Kinfeed and both can publish posts.
- Choose Business if you are a shop, restaurant, brand, service or organisation.
- Choose Creator if you are a public figure, artist, influencer or content producer.
- If you are unsure, pick Business. You can change it later in Settings and activity, then Account type and tools.
- Kinfeed works the same on either type: it can read your basic profile, publish posts and read post insights.
The choice mostly changes which Instagram tools you see, such as contact buttons and categories. It does not change what Kinfeed can do.
Log in to the right Instagram account
If you run several Instagram accounts, make sure the one you want is the one you approve.
- On the Instagram screen, check the username shown. It is the account Kinfeed will be connected to.
- If it is the wrong one, tap Not you? (or Log into another account) on that screen.
- Log in to the account you want. Use the username and password of that account.
- Approve the permissions. Kinfeed connects to exactly the account you logged in to.
- To add another account later, repeat this from Settings, Instagram accounts, Add account.
Instagram shows the account that is already logged in on that browser. If the wrong one keeps appearing, log out of Instagram in the browser first, or use a private window.
Keep all permissions switched on
Kinfeed needs all three permissions on Instagram's screen to post and show insights.
- Choose Connect Instagram in Kinfeed again.
- On the Instagram screen, leave every permission turned on: read your basic profile, publish content, and read insights.
- Tap Allow.
- If you changed your mind earlier, nothing was saved. Starting again is safe.
Kinfeed never posts anything you have not approved, unless you switch Autopilot on. It cannot read your messages or change your account settings.
Accept the tester invite
While Kinfeed is still in review with Meta, an account must be added as a tester first.
- Ask the person who runs Kinfeed to add your Instagram username as an Instagram tester. You only need this while the app is in review.
- Open Instagram in a browser or the app and go to Settings.
- Open Apps and websites.
- Open the Tester invites tab.
- Accept the Kinfeed invite. It can take a few minutes to appear; refresh if it is missing.
- Come back to Kinfeed and connect again.
Only shown when the error says the account is not a tester. Once Kinfeed passes Meta's review, this step goes away for everyone. Menu names and where Tester invites sits can differ by app version.
This Instagram account is already connected
One Instagram account belongs to one Kinfeed account at a time.
- Think about which email you used to sign up for Kinfeed before. The account is attached to that one.
- Sign in to that Kinfeed account and open Settings, then Instagram accounts.
- Choose Disconnect next to the account.
- Sign back in to the Kinfeed account you want to use and connect again.
- Or keep using the first Kinfeed account and skip connecting here.
This keeps two places from posting to the same Instagram account at once. Disconnecting keeps your brand, drafts and calendar.

Reconnect Instagram
Connections stop working when a password changes or the login runs out. Reconnecting takes a minute.
- Open Settings in Kinfeed, then Instagram accounts. Or use the Reconnect button on the Home banner.
- Choose Reconnect now.
- Log in on Instagram with the same account and tap Allow.
- Kinfeed sends you back. Posts that were on hold go out at their next slot.
This happens after you change your Instagram password, Instagram logs out all devices, or the 60-day Instagram login could not be renewed. Nothing is lost while an account is disconnected.
Remove Kinfeed from Instagram
Take Kinfeed's access away from inside Instagram at any time.
- On Instagram, open Settings. In a browser, use the menu at the bottom left and choose Settings.
- Open Website permissions (on some versions it sits under Your app and media).
- Open Apps and websites.
- Select the Active tab.
- Find Kinfeed and choose Remove.
- To also remove the connection inside Kinfeed, open Settings, then Instagram accounts, and choose Disconnect.
After removal Kinfeed can no longer post or read this account. Posts already on Instagram stay there. To reconnect later, start from Settings in Kinfeed.
